Exposure to Study Abroad
Q: When did studying abroad first become an idea for you? What was your initial exposure to it?
A: Studying abroad first became an idea for me when I was a freshman in high school. I heard upperclassmen share their experiences about spending semesters or even an entire year abroad, either through internships or academic programs in other countries. Hearing their stories made me realize how life- changing studying abroad could be, as it would allow me to gain a more holistic understanding of the world beyond the United States.
Scholarships and Funding
Q: How did you learn about the ESU Luard Morse Scholarship? How is it promoted on campus, and how did it influence your decision to study abroad?
A: I learned about the ESU Luard Morse Scholarship through my university’s externally funded extraordinary opportunities coordinator, Ms. Alsace Gallop. Her guidance and support played a significant role in connecting me with this incredible opportunity.
Q: Did you apply for any other study abroad scholarships?
A: I did not.
Q: What role did financial aid or scholarships play in making study abroad possible for you?
A:Financial aid and scholarships were absolutely essential for making my study abroad experience possible, as they covered education costs and alleviated expenses such as meals and tuition, enabling me to focus on my studies and personal growth.
